I was born and bred in Coffs Harbour. There is no other place like Coffs, it has the mountains on one side and the ocean on the other. Safe beaches and awesome diving, fishing and boating.
Most mornings of my life while in Coffs I used to go for a swim in the harbour at 6am, bikeride or run or sometimes all three with other insane like minded people before work.
I received my bronze Surf Life Saving medal at Sawtell SLSC and participated in many events over the years.
I earned my Open Water certificate for diving from Jetty Dive and went on to become a Divemaster/Coxswain and spent many happy hours around the South Solitary Islands, going on trips to most of the South Pacific Islands including Vanautu, New Guinea, Solomon Islands and up as far as Truk Lagoon for some awesome diving.I then spent many years with the Coffs Harbour Tri club…swimming, Biking, running and generally having fun. We travelled all over the countryside participating in Triathlon events around Australia.
I joined Coffs Harbour Outrigger Club and was soon hooked on paddling, six man and single outriggers both facinated me and I couldn’t get enough of eitgher. I also bought an Ocean Kayak..different style of paddling but just as addictive and paddled around North Stradbroke Island and the Moreton Bay area when I moved to Brisbane. Now I have a SUP (Stand up Paddleboard)
So here I am now officially a COB (Cranky Old Bastard) living in Brisbane and still cannot get enough of life and all it has to offer. Many more adventures are just around the corner, I am sure of that..
You know my name, not my story. You've heard and seen what I have done, not what I have been through....... Life is about waiting for the storm to pass and learning to dance in the rain......Be true to who you are. As you breathe right now, another person takes his last. So stop complaining and learn to live with what you have.
To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else, I think is the greatest accomplishment.
